Probing the Chemical Kinetics of Minimalist Functional Group Gasoline Surrogates

چکیده

Surrogate mixtures are routinely used for understanding gasoline fuel combustion in engine simulations. The general trend surrogate formulation has been to increase the number of components a mixture better emulate real properties. Recently, new design strategy based on functional group analysis gasolines was proposed using minimal species [minimalist (MFG)—approach]. MFG surrogates (having just one or two components) could experimentally capture ignition delay time (IDT), threshold sooting index, and smoke point different fuels with hundreds components. However, other characteristics were not explored, kinetic modeling reported. These aspects addressed this paper, where behavior various assessed by simulating IDT, jet-stirred reactor oxidation, premixed laminar flame speeds chemical modeling. simulations compared experimental data as well more complex multicomponent (five nine species) surrogates. This study reveals that binary capable accurately

the effect of functional/notional approach on the proficiency level of efl learners and its evaluation through functional test

in fact, this study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any difference between the effect of functional/notional approach and the structural approaches to language teaching on the proficiency test of efl learners? 2. can a rather innovative language test referred to as "functional test" ge devised so so to measure the proficiency test of efl learners, and thus be as much reliable an...

The heterogeneous chemical kinetics of N2O5 on CaCO3 and other atmospheric mineral dust surrogates

Uptake experiments of N2O5 on several mineral dust powder samples were carried out under continuous molecular flow conditions at 298±2 K. At [N2O5]0=(4.0±1.0)×10 cm−3 we have found γ ss values ranging from (3.5±1.1)×10−2 for CaCO3 to (0.20±0.05) for Saharan Dust with γss decreasing as [N2O5]0 increased. The uptake coefficients reported in this work are to be regarded as upper limiting values ow...

Detailed Chemical Kinetic Models for the Low Temperature Combustion of Hydrocarbons with Application to Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Surrogates

This paper presents a review of gas-phase detailed kinetic models developed to simulate the low temperature oxidation and autoignition of gasoline and diesel fuel components (alkanes, ethers, esters, alkenes, cycloalkanes, aromatics, including from 4 atoms of carbon) and of mixtures of several of them, which have been proposed as surrogates. The recently proposed models are summarized, as well ...

Detailed kinetic models for the low-temperature auto-ignition of gasoline surrogates

In the context of the search for gasoline surrogates for kinetic modeling purpose, this paper describes a new model for the low-temperature auto-ignition of n-heptane/iso-octane/hexene/toluene blends for the different linear isomers of hexene. The model simulates satisfactory experimental results obtained in a rapid compression machine for temperatures ranging from 650 to 850 K in the case of b...
